What is the Difference between Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Management??

Affirmative Action - government initiated, legally mandated programs, that specifically address underrepresentation of a particular group of people in a particular skill category. Efforts are made to ensure the workforce is reflective of the population at large.

Equal Opportunity - the laws, regulations and court decisions that prohibit employment decisions that are based solely on race, color, national origin, gender, disability, religion, age.

Diversity - an all inclusive culture where the unique cultures, beliefs, values, skills, attributes, characteristics and similarities of all people are appreciated and valued

Diversity Management - the process of establishing and maintaining a positive environment where the differences of all people are appreciated and valued and where all individuals are empowered to reach their full potential and maximize their contributions.
